Community 1st Sheffield signed a lease agreement with NHS Sheffield for a single site central headquarters office.

These plans were put in place when NHS Sheffield completed its reorganisation, re-structuring from four PCTs to one. The new headquarters assists the new NHS Sheffield to fulfill their plans to consolidate all the Trust commissioning staff to operate from a single premises and brings together 400 staff previously scattered across five offices across Sheffield.

Despite some concerns over the cost of the new NHS Sheffield HQ it is estimated that the move will save the Trust around £3m in management costs. It will also benefit savings from the hidden costs of unproductive time as staff travel between sites, lack of focal point for leadership and the facilities management costs of running old buildings. All of these factors were taken into consideration by NHS Sheffield before committing to the move.

The headquarters building is not a new build development and all re-fit works were undertaken by Community 1st Sheffield to create a new modern working environment for NHS Sheffield staff.

The re-fit of the accommodation was completed over two phases and staff moved into their new home in June 2008.
